about
An alternative version of the track "Xenophobic" that will appear on the upcoming album "Faith V1.1"
Xenophobia is a fear of aliens. In a broader sense, it's a fear of strangers and foreigners, too. I'd just like to state this now: I'm not racist, I do not fear strangers, foreigners or aliens, and one day I should even like to meet aliens!
This song is about the idea that 'God' is an alien (the ancient astronaut theory - search that on wikipedia if you want to know more, it's very interesting) and something to be feared...
So I guess this is one of my anti-theistic songs! I'm sorry if this offends you - this is a fictional concept song, and not necessarily my opinion on the matter.
lyrics
In the dark I feel so lost and lights are flashing before my eyes
Belief is torn and sights decay while nothing is real behind the lies
Left to me, I'd burn the sky, the sun would flare and I'd risk my life
For safety and comfort and peace of mind, just to feel at home in life
Help me, I've been falling into madness, paranoia
Watching shadows, my fear strikes me from the unknown
Xenophobic
Swamped in darkness, no one to guide me
Here in space there's no one to save me
Strangers come to take me away from you
Silent screams are lost as I call for you
Strangers follow and trace my steps, the hairs are standing on my neck
Their eyes are burning through my back, there's nothing I can hide from them
Why are they here, here for me? Are they watching over me?
Are they here to silence me? Are they here to change my life?
Help me, I've been falling into madness, paranoia
Watching shadows, my fear strikes me from the unknown
Xenophobic
Swamped in darkness, no one to guide me
Here in space there's no one to save me
Strangers come to take me away from you
Silent screams are lost as I call for you
